- We never sell your personal data, and we don't use it for advertising.
- During the preview, your account and finances are stored in your browser on your device, not on our servers.
- The Data Privacy Act gives you the right to access, correct, delete and get a copy of your information.
- Questions or requests? Email kurvo2026@gmail.com.
01Who we are
CurrenSee is a personal finance app made by Kurvo ("Kurvo", "we", "us"), based in the Philippines. For the purposes of the Data Privacy Act, Kurvo is the personal information controller for the information described in this policy.
This policy applies to the CurrenSee website and web app, including the live demo. If you have questions or want to reach our Data Protection Officer, email kurvo2026@gmail.com.
02CurrenSee is in preview
CurrenSee is currently a preview (an early version released before our full launch). That affects how your information is handled today:
Right now, the information you enter stays in your browser. Your account, password and financial records are saved in your browser's local storage on the device you're using. They are not sent to or stored on Kurvo's servers, and we cannot see them.
When CurrenSee moves to secure servers, we'll update this policy, tell you what changes, and give you a choice before any data is moved from your browser to our systems.
03Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: your name, email address and password. The password is stored as a one-way hash, not as plain text.
- Financial records you enter: wallets and their balances, transactions, categories, budgets, savings goals, bills, subscriptions and any notes you add.
- Receipt images: if you use the receipt scanner, the photo is read on your own device (using the open-source Tesseract text-recognition library, downloaded from a public CDN). The photo itself is not uploaded to us or anyone else; only the details you choose to save are kept.
- Preferences: settings such as notification choices, privacy mode and whether you started with sample data.
- Messages to us: anything you send when you email us, such as your email address and the content of your message.
Information collected automatically
Our pages load fonts and scripts from third-party content delivery networks (such as Google Fonts, jsDelivr, unpkg and the Tailwind CSS CDN). Like any website request, these providers receive standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested. We don't currently use advertising trackers.
What we don't collect
We don't ask for your bank or e-wallet login credentials, and CurrenSee doesn't connect to your bank or e-wallet accounts. Everything in the app is information you choose to type in.
04How we use your information
- To provide CurrenSee: showing your balances, budgets, goals, reports and charts.
- To generate insights and assistant responses from your own records, such as budget pace or unusual spending.
- To keep you signed in, remember your preferences and protect your account.
- To respond to your questions, feedback and requests.
- To improve CurrenSee, using aggregated or de-identified information where possible.
- To meet our legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
Under the Data Privacy Act, we process personal information based on your consent, the need to provide the service you asked for, compliance with legal obligations, and our legitimate interests in running and improving CurrenSee, always balanced against your rights.
05We never sell your data
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we don't share it with advertisers or data brokers. That won't change when CurrenSee moves to servers or introduces paid plans.
We share information only when it's needed to run CurrenSee or required by law:
- Service providers who host or support CurrenSee on our behalf, under written agreements that require them to protect your data and use it only for our instructions.
- Legal requirements, when disclosure is required by Philippine law, a court order or a lawful request from authorities.
- Business changes, such as a merger or acquisition, in which case this policy would continue to apply to your information and we would notify you.
06Where your data is stored
During the preview
Your data lives in your browser's local storage on your device. A few things to know:
- It isn't synced. An account created on your phone won't appear on your laptop.
- Clearing your browser's site data, or using a private window, removes it permanently. We can't recover it for you.
- Anyone who uses the same browser profile could see it. Please use CurrenSee on a device and browser profile you trust.
- The demo account uses sample data and is saved in your browser only.
After launch
When accounts move to our servers, your data will be stored with reputable cloud infrastructure providers, and we'll apply organizational, physical and technical security measures as the Data Privacy Act and the National Privacy Commission's rules require. If data is ever stored or processed outside the Philippines, we'll make sure it receives comparable protection. We'll describe the specifics in an updated version of this policy before launch.
07How long we keep it
During the preview, your data stays in your browser until you delete it, delete your account, or clear your browser data.
After launch, we'll keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide CurrenSee. When you delete your account, we'll delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where the law requires us to keep certain records.
08Your rights
As a data subject under the Data Privacy Act of 2012, you have the right to:
- Be informed about whether and how your personal information is processed.
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct (rectify) information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Erasure or blocking of information that is no longer needed, was unlawfully obtained, or that you withdraw consent for.
- Data portability: get a copy of your information in an electronic, commonly used format.
- Object to processing, including withdrawing consent you've given.
- Damages if you're harmed by inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, false or unlawfully obtained information.
- File a complaint with the National Privacy Commission (privacy.gov.ph) if you believe your rights have been violated.
During the preview, you control your data directly: you can view and edit everything in the app, clear sample data, and delete your account in the app. Because we don't hold your preview data, we can't access or change it on your behalf. For anything else, or once CurrenSee is on our servers, email kurvo2026@gmail.com and we'll respond within the period the law requires.
10Children
CurrenSee is intended for people who are at least 18 years old, or who use it with the involvement of a parent or guardian. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children without parental consent. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact kurvo2026@gmail.com and we'll help remove it.
11Changes to this policy
We'll update this policy as CurrenSee grows, especially when accounts move to our servers. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and tell you in the app or by email before the changes take effect. Continuing to use CurrenSee after that means you accept the updated policy.
12Contact us
For privacy questions, requests to exercise your rights, or to reach our Data Protection Officer, email kurvo2026@gmail.com. Please include the email address linked to your CurrenSee account so we can help you faster.
